At least in part because of the experiment to let Star Dragon to be downloaded from here for free, I've been invited to participate in an interesting forum from another website. This will be taking place in coming weeks and I post the invitation here:
"Meeting of the Minds" is basically an attempt to pair off two authors and get them to ask each other questions about their writing or their writing lives. I was wondering if you would be interested in exchanging questions with Jonathan Lyons, author of BURN and MACHINA:

Beatrice.com is a daily blog of news and commentary about books and authors that reaches more than 80,000 readers a month. I'm less concerned with genre than with interesting stories and issues, and I'm thinking a lot of my readers would be just as interested as I am in hearing about stuff like the impact of going to Clarion or the decision to use a CC license (I've released a manuscript of mine that way, and it's amazing how regularly it gets downloaded...)

The invitation sounded interesting and fun, so I said "yes" and will be participating. I'm reading MACHINA now and will be engaging in a dialogue soon. It sounds like Jonathan took the academic writing route, picking up science concepts on the side, while I got a PhD in astronomy and picked up writing on the side. I think these different approaches will give us some interesting things to talk about.
I'll post again when this event appears at beatrice.com, but in the meantime that website looks pretty interesting and I urge you to check it out.
