Clouds make astronomers unhappy. Optical, ground-based astronomers anyway. I'm at Kitt Peak National Observatory this week, using the 4-meter telecope to try to look at some post-starburst quasars and some SHEEP. I'm unhappy, however, because it has been very cloudy at Kitt Peak recently and this week is proving no different. We have two more nights to go, so wish me luck. You can check the sky here yourself on the web through the KPNO concam.
It can be a real pain in the butt to travel cross country, let your life and work get disrupted in order to do something cool and important, and then not be able to do it. Well, that's observational astronomy for you.
