Up and Running

I had a few posts over the summer about running and getting back in shape. None of those recently for the obvious reason that I've been bad. My treadmill broke, and running outside on the hard pavement the one time I tried hurt my ankle. I finally got a repairman up from Ft. Collins ($50 service fee even though I'm under warranty) and got the treadmill fixed. I'm slowly getting back into running, emphasis on the slowly. I've lost a step or two. I ran three miles two mornings this past week, and five miles today. It's frustrating, but I can work back up to speed again.

And we also have a new low-resolution spectrograph up and running at WIRO, which I'm very pleased about. It's going to enable me to start some new quasar observing projects I can involve students with, one of which I expect to take a decade, give or take.
