Watching astronomy workshops live
I got an email this morning about a workshop going on in Chile:
"FYI, by connecting to
http://streaming.eso.org/chile, you can watch/
listen in realtime the discussions taking place at ESO-Santiago
(Chilean time - 9am-6pm) during the workshop OBSERVING PLANETARY
SYSTEMS (Workshop website:
http://www.sc.eso.org/santiago/science/OPSWorkshop,
Window Media Player needed to watch the video stream)"
This will likely be over by the time you read this, but there are a number of workshops and seminars involving professional astronomers that are broadcast, recorded, and archives, so if you want to see what a real science meeting is like at the highest level, you can. It may be too complicated, or rely too much on specialized knowledge and jargon, to follow easily, but you might be surprised.
